UPDATE (as of 10/11) Vocal Ensemble: Auditions for the Vocal Ensemble for this year’s V-Show, Momentum, will be held at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, October 22nd, in the Choir Room. Here is a link to more information! See the updated document for the movement combinations.

MOMENTUM
AUDITIONS: MON NOV 4 3:30-8:30 in the Orchestra Room. Signups will begin on MON OCT 28 at 8am thru the GBN V-Show webpage. Casting will be announced by FRI NOV 8 on the GBN V-Show webpage.
ALL CAST MEETING: WED NOV 20 3:30 in the Choir Room. AT LEAST one member of your act must attend. $15 participation fee is DUE this day by ALL members of the group, paid to the GBN Bookstore. (Includes t-shirt)
REQUIRED REHEARSALS:
1 DIRECTOR MTG: WED DEC 11 *signs ups available at 1st all cast meeting
2 PROGRESS REHEARSALS: WED JAN 8 AND WED JAN 22 *signs ups available at 1st all cast meeting
1 SPACING REHEARSAL ON STAGE: WEEK OF JAN 27 *exact timed schedule coming in January
2 MENTORS REHEARSALS: TBD *self scheduled
REQUIRED TECH: MON FEB 3 - WED FEB 12
PERFORMANCES: THU FEB 13TH - SAT FEB 15TH
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Each audition slot will be 5 minutes long. Your audition may not exceed 2.5 minutes. Please bring as much of your act as possible - ex. props, costumes, instruments, etc - especially if it is a crucial part of your act. Come prepared to discuss how our MOMENTUM concept fits your piece (see below). We will provide bass amp, guitar amp, drums, keyboard, vocal mics, and a sound system for playback. When your entire act has arrived, please check in ON TIME with the student directors. We won’t see acts that are not signed up.
*If you are submitting a video/animation act, you may submit it via a google form that will be made available and DO NOT need to sign up for an audition time slot.

DANCE ENS AUDITIONS: SUN OCT 13 2-4 in the Dance Studio. Audition Combinations will be made available by MON OCT 7 thru the GBN V-Show webpage. There will be two combinations: ALL AUDITIONEES must learn and attempt both. SOME, not all, auditionees MAY be asked to stay and demonstrate specialized skills or an additional across the floor/combo.
VOCAL ENS AUDITIONS: TUES OCT 22 3:30-5:00 in the Choir Room. Audition packet/music will be made available by MON OCT 7 thru the GBN V-Show webpage. There will be two selections to prepare: one solo and one small-group.
*Casting in one of these 2 groups could affect individual act casting.
STUDENT DIRECTORS/CHOREOGRAPHERS :
Info on GBN V-Show webpage. Submissions due FRI OCT 4TH. You will be contacted via email by SUN OCT 6TH. First Meeting THUR OCT 10TH 3:30 in the Music Classroom Student Directors WILL be required for Vocal and Dance Ensemble Auditions.
DIRECTOR’S NOTE;
Drive. Power. Strength. Consistency. These are a few very versatile words that come to my mind when I think “momentum.” None of them refer to a specific speed, quality of motion, or volume, but they all speak to a consistent energy that I find is often driven by a goal. And whether we reach it or not isn’t the most important thing - it’s the journey - the MOMENTUM - the energy that stretches us, teaches us, and opens us up to infinite possibilities. So what’s brewing for you? Whatcha workin’ on? Maybe even quite literally, is there somewhere you want to travel to? And another sub level - maybe you’re trying to work on something at a slower pace to catch every little detail, or working up to that new tempo - completing something the quickest you ever have. These are all the different parts of Momentum, and I’m interested in any and all you might bring to the audition room! Break a Leg!
